First Musical Together

Had the intention to watch Lat! The Musical at IB but colleagues said that tickets are sold out, so buat taktahu la, tak amek port (ticket dah sold out kan). Plus Jab confirm taknak layan my request nak tgk musical theatre (duh!)

However, on Friday evening, my auntie called me and asked whether ada plan tak that Friday night and I said no. Then she said she has two tickets for the show and wanted to give me. Excited gilak! Hehe =D So I texted Jab about it, and pujuk sikit then he said ok!

I loved to read the comic when I was younger coz mom wanted us to learn english. Hehe. It's too cute tho ;) Anyways, the show was great especially the Lat cast played by Awie - paling best la. And the chinese guy in the show named Frankie ( I don't know what is his real name but he always act with Harith Iskandar and the gang). The kids are too cute, but Atilia tu biasa2 aje la. Overall, best and I was pretty excited about it. Harith Iskandar and Hans Isaac are very creative! Loved the ideas!

Good seats, free, and it was considered a date! Our first time watching musical shows! Hehe.

Wanita

Something worth sharing. Got this from an email received, betul tak betul, Wallahualam. :

19. Jika wanita melayan suami tanpa khianat akan mendapat pahala 12 tahun solat.

20. Jika wanita menyusui anaknya sampai cukup tempoh (2 1/2 tahun), maka maalaikat-maalaikat di langit akan habarkan berita bahawa syurga wajib baginya.

Pisau tu menetak kepala kita macam mana orang memecahkan tempurung kelapa. Belum masuk tangan, kaki, badan, etc.

Hadis Nabi mengenai wanita.

Nilai Seorang Wanita Solehah

Salam and hye all,

My opinion, personally :-)

Read thru twitter just now and I a tweet from a famous blogger regarding our famous singer hijab style. Honestly when I saw the singer's picture, I told myself and my colleague/Jab that her hijab style is too different already, I wanted to tweet about it but then I just ignored. In the picture, she didn't wear the normal hijab – but more like serkup style and wrapped a pashmina/long scarf at the neck and covering her chest. Yes, she covered mostly everything, but you could see a glimpse of her neck and ears.
Source: Google.com

Bukan lah niat nak tunjuk hebat, yes I just covered myself fully about 7-8 months before I got married (Alhamdulilah, never felt better). But from my observations, some fashionistas are too in line with current fashion, they tend to be a "fashion muslimah" in a wrong way and the justifications are among others (and VERY common): the outfit is too short/ tight/ clingy/ stick to the body, they wear short or 3 quarter sleeves, they wear hijab but you do not cover their chest/ neck/ ears (siap pakai subang) or a very see thru hijab or maybe the long skirt/ pants is hanging and etc.

Source: Google.com
Yes, you can say everything is between onself and Allah SWT, and only Him to judge. But when it doesn't look nice in the public eyes, someone has got to start giving advise.
Source: Google.com

If one were to wear hijab, wear it in a right way. Because it shows your believe. This is just my personal opinion because it is just too common. The world has changed but I am a bit conservative when it comes to things like this. Thus, I strongly agree the blogger commented on the singer's hijabi fashion for her own benefits, when she was introduced to the entertainment world, she was fine (to my eyes at least).

Teguran sahaja. Tidak perlu makan hati :)

Her E-day!

13 Feb 2011 - Saturday
Pusat Kesenian Islam, Shah Alam

Alhamdulilah, Sabariah is now engaged to the love of her life. Insha Allah, her akad and reception will be held in September 2011. Her dress was gorgeous! And the foods were so good! They served butter prawns (yums!). But the best thing was the company! Congrats to Sab! All the best for your preparations!

Love the pictures taken from Sab's Fb page. I think those are from her OP.
It seems that everybody is getting hitched already :). Moving on to the next phase of life. Gracefully. But surely, things will be different once u're married. There are restrictions here and there, no more being 100% independent. A lot more responsibilities and tests.

May the friendship lasts forever! X

Wedding Post

I owe this blog stories about my wedding saga. Perhaps after I receive the pictures for my reception from the OP. I've received the one at Ampang side, but let it be by sequence. Hehe. Then comes the honeymoon/holiday trip to Bali, Indonesia and the trip to Penang. Malas tapi mesti paksa untuk tulis.

We have been staying together in our little condo unit, and it has no internet access yet, that's why la malas. Broadband is too slow, access to blogspot kat office kena block.. So the chances of using Unifi will only be at my parents' and/or Streamyx at my PIL.

Toodles.

On Life

Hye all,

When u're not married yet to your long time boyfie, people will ask "takde plan ke, bila nak tunang". When u're engaged, people will ask "bila majlis kawen". When u're married, people will ask "aren't u pregnant yet" or if let say u post in fb/bbm status about something good by indicating "great news/ alhamdulilah/ syukur blabla" people would assume u're pregnant. Yes, they may ask n assume but not every-single-freaking-time?? Like seriously.. If those who inquire tu kwn2 rapat gelak sedih sama, its ok. Tapi mostly those yg busybody tu, ialah orang yang sangat jarang jumpa, or kwn kat UIA yg telah ditinggalkan sejak habis belajar kt UIA and hanya keep in touch kat Facebook (if any), or those yg "competitive" wives to Jab's close friends. Sekali dua, tak mengapa, tetapi kalau dah setiap masa, sy sangat menyampah dan benci! Seriously, thanks but no thanks. Insha Allah, kalau ada rezeki, ada la. Tapi selagi there's no official announcement made by myself - means NONE/TAKDE/TAK ADA. Ok?

Muslimat bertelekung hitam

Surat
- Nafastari, UIAM, Gombak.
He was such a good writer. I am amazed from his writings. Al-Fatihah.

Something Interesting

When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for
dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in
particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day
at work.

On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs,
sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad.

I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did
was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my
day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night,
but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that
biscuit and eat every bite!

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing
my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll
never forget what he said: "Honey, I love burned biscuits."

Later that night, I went to kiss daddy good night and I asked
him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in
his arms and said, "Your Momma put in a hard day at work today
and she's real tired. And besides - a little burnt biscuit
never hurt anyone!"

You know, life is full of imperfect things and imperfect
people. I'm not the best at hardly anything, and I forget
birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else.

What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept
each other's faults - and choosing to celebrate each other's
differences - is one of the most important keys to creating a
healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.

And that's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take
the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them
at the feet of God. Because in the end, He's the only One who
will be able to give you a relationship where a burnt biscuit
isn't a deal-breaker!

We could extend this to any relationship. In fact,
understanding is the base of any relationship, be it a husband-
wife or parent-child or friendship!

"Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket -
keep it in your own."

Refurnish?

After reading a few interesting blogs, which they wrote about life i/o other things, I think I want to start writing about life too, amongst other things. Because, I love reading interesting blogs and I want make this (my blog) and interesting one to be read, whether in Malay/english/mixed languages. Insya Allah :)

To me, life is not just about yourself, but others too. In short, life is like a wheel, today u're on top of the wheel, but later or tomorrow or whenever you'll be at the bottom of the wheel. Life is not sweet like chocolates everyday, surely there will be hick ups in between.

Most importantly, "kita merancang tapi Allah SWT yang menentukan segalanya". We may have 1001 plans in mind, but we may never knew what has been planned ahead of us by Allah the Greatest. I love this quotes I took from a friend's Fb page which says "Beribadahlah seolah-olah akan mati esok, Berkerjalah seolah-olah akan hidup 1000 tahun, Berbahagia & hargailah pasangan seolah-olah dia akan meninggal sebentar lagi ".... It is actually true, because we do not know what is going to happen sooner or later. Insha Allah.

Wah, tetibe rasa intellectual plak :p I am grateful for whatever that I have now, Alhamdulilah ;-) Moga-moga rezeki akan dimurahkan dan disenangkan segala urusan di dunia mahupun akhirat nanti. Insha Allah

When Life Has To Go On

Salam,

If you've read the newspaper today, u would know the news that I'm going to write about.

On Tuesday morning, I woke to an SMS fr a friend (Ali) saying that Baya's (a course mate in UIA) husband passed away due to an accident in Terengganu. I was too shocked but I forward the same SMS to those I know who knew Baya. Me myself isn't that close to her, even though we were in the same Uni, but I took Economics whilst she took Accounting. She got married when we were in our final semester, finished her degree, graduated, n followed her dear husband to Pakistan (her husband now arwah was attached to Malaysian immigration in Islamabad)- that's what I read.

Me n Baya barely knew each other, but we are connected thru facebook since she's a friend to a few of my closest friends. She just gave birth to her 2nd baby who is now 2 months, first daughter is about 2 years old.

The tragic accident happened in Terengganu when they were on their way back to arwah's kampung, just 10km away. Ran into a horse which appeared out of nowhere. Kalau dah ajal, saya juga redha. He was pronounced death on the way to the hospital. Al-Fatihah

I felt worst when actually I just saw her posted a picture of her husband driving (ard 530pm) in the card (I believe before the accident occurred later that night)

When I realized that Baya has lost her dear husband (al-Fatihah) in that accident, I was thinking of her and her kids. She hasn't been in the working industry at all, 2 little kids, and now has to be independent. I can't hold my tears when I thought of that. Some of her friends are trying to organize something in order to help her thru, and I'm in (the least I could do to help).

It is stated in the Quran that everyone shall taste death. It's just when, where and how it's going to happen, only Allah swt knows. U'll see them now, but we don't know what will happen later, tomorrow. Ya Allah, sesungguhnya aku sgt naif....

Nurshaela

Malam Berinai

I didn’t have the malam berinai like some people do where they change clothes, berarak etc. mine was just malam pakai inai on my fingers and feet, and it was worn the traditional ways (no henna drawn etc). My close families came to the house with food, cakes and mom made hot drinks etc. it was a fun night, a great get together with close families. Finished up the necessaries and got ready for nikah the next day. Had a little fight with the groom to be as he refused to have inai on 3 of his fingers, siap compare his friend tak pakai etc….. I malas nak argue, so I kept quiet and thus merajuk =p

My grandma insisted on putting inai on my finger tho her visions are not so clear. Satu jari je

Tapak kaki kering.. This was at the end, ngada2 je :p
Twas one of the best nights before the big day.

2 Days to Go

Can u actually believe it? I'm speechless actually.

I've collected all the outfits yesterday (was supposed to collect on Monday-then Tuesday tapi ada a few little things tak settle lagi-finally yesterday baru everything siap). The personnel whom I dealt with was very nice so I didn't put pressure on her. I must say that, I love all the outfits (to my preference it is). Nothing exaggerate, just the way I want it to be :-)

Basically the colour for all three outfits:
1. Nikah - White + touch of silver + detailing of pearls, sequin and beads
2. My reception - Bila dah jadi baju, more to silverish grey + touch of pink (detailing)
3. Bertandang - Tiffany Blue + white

Well, do not expect something like Jovian's, Lynda Rahim's or who ever else's wedding dresses la. Hehe. Everything is simple but to me it's more than enough (went a bit off from budget though) *pening kepala*

Today: Am going to send pictures to be printed, go to the bank, beli bal lampu!! buy fruits for hantaran, meeting with the DJ and collect the cake for hantaran

Tomorrow: Will have to send chocs, fruits and cake for hantaran to the hantaran maker in Ampang, petang go threading and collect all hantaran bawak balik rumah, then malam pakai inai. My inai will be the traditional ones, no henna drawn will be drawn.... Get ready for Saturday.

I've yet to vacuum and mop the room, rearrange some items in the room. But I've changed the curtain and the bedsheet, got rid of a few things from the room supaya tak semak! Put the picture frames and the vases at the places I wanted. Oh, and the room has been painted in white. Bilik pengantin pun simple je, I want it to look descent, no frills no whatever langsir etc. Just bed, a nice bedsheet, approriate curtain, wardrobes, side table, table lamp and mirror. Most of the things are from Ikea, thanks Ikea (except the bedsheet which my aunty bought from the States).

Shall continue later.

(Surah an-Nur':26)

I love u too! I have awesome friends. Can't thank enough to Hani and Aimi for coming back from Brunei and Ireland respectively. Oh and Aida too, whom will be back from Pahang. Hehe. These are the friends that u can call "FRIENDS" :D

I'll be on leave from Wednesday 19 Jan and will be back at work on Monday 7 Feb. Thanks to the public holidays and weekend, if not cuti beberapa hari je :D

I'm picking up my nikah & reception outfits today, selendang nikah and custom made reception shoes. Going to decorate and clean my room tomorrow, and threading too. Thursday will be occupied with a few other things including picking up the hantaran cake and beli buah for hantaran. Friday will be so bz as I need to send chocs, cake and fruits for hantaran to the hantaran maker in Ampang, and amek hantaran once siap, and pakai inai after maghrib and be READY for saturday morning.

Still haven't finalized on how to wear the tudung.

Grateful

I was on my way to Jab's place using STAR LRT. Took the wrong train, the one to Sri Petaling instead of Ampang. Saw this kid Q-ing but not in line (which I don't like) so I didn't give way. When we were in the train already, I saw him talking to the other boy he called "abang" then later when he had to change train at Show Lin station (me too) and he departed from the "abang" n told him "jumpa di asrama". Means he's from a boarding school somewhere.

He looks naïve, innocent and hardworking. I don't know why I felt pity (maybe because of the innocent and naïve face). Started a conversation with him while waiting for "Ampang" train. He's a form 4 student at a Vocational boarding school in Slim River (Perak), 1st from 7 siblings, his mother is a housewife and father is a government driver. He's home is somewhere in Tmn Maluri (Cheras). He's back for the weekend, carried 3 heavy bags and a bagpack, one of carried bag is spoiled. Continued chit chatting even after we got into Ampang train. And before he said goodbye since he'll stop at Maluri station, I put a RM 10 note in his school's shirt pocket with an advice "belajar rajin-rajin". Did give some advices about real life when I was chit chatting.

Now I'm thinking that, I should have given him more than RM 10. But somehow I felt relieved and very grateful to Allah SWT for everything I have. The least I could "help" tho it was just a red colour note, just for him to use it for his expenses, takde la banyak mana pun. Tapi I could see his "thank you" face though he looked very tired, he did say thank you :) budak yg sangat beradab.

Told Jab, and I didn't like his response to my story.

Told my mom the story, and how Jab responded and she said, "men are different". To me sedeqah doesn't mean to anak yatim sahaja, it could be to anybody that you want to give. I just hope this kid has a good future, insha Allah.

Not that I want to tell the whole world about my good deed ke ape ke, tapi... This is what I feel. And for other people to think that there are people who are less fortunate than we are, trying to fit into the expensive materialistic world.

Mixed Feelings

16 days to go.

Some of you might think, "apela nak count down and what nots". Now I how it feels, the clock is ticking yet so many things to be settled. But I still take things easy. Hee hee. Just that, I can't really concentrate at work =p Bare with me these few weeks/days because I'll be writing a LOT of wedding stuff.

I have collected my wedding ring and I'M SO LOVING IT!! It's simple, but something he could afford with his own earned penny :) When the sales person informed me that the ring is ready for collection, I straight away went to the boutique and collected with a lot of excitement. He he (Tho actually I've settled down at home after work and all) but the excitement made me so eager to collect it that moment jugak. Tak kesah lah the place is quite distance ke ape ke. I'm just so happy right now, alhamdulilah :)

Things are relatively moving according to plans, most of the important things have been either deposited to confirmed or on its way to compare (kompang etc) Yes, I want to hire orang main kompang, like real kompang, bukan bunyi radio. One of my course mate will be the MC, just in time when the bride and groom walk through the isle-intro a bit and what not, a DJ to play my desired songs, cleaners to clean the dewan after everything ends and security guards to take care of the traffic on that reception day. Cars with "pink/fuschia" card boards will only be allowed to park their cars at the designated parkings inside the premise. Sape nak, angkat tangan!! Hee hee

Will be collecting my nikah and reception outfit, selendang nikah, selendang for bertandang, custom made reception shoes and reception veil this Friday, Insha Allah.

All in all, everything is simple, nothing exaggerate. I want it to be simple yet beautiful in my eyes. Both families are quite laid back, so I'll just keep things nothing exaggerate. Coz we will still have to invest for the after-wedding-lives.
All weddings are beautiful, but some exaggerate wedding events are very very beautiful - beyond words can say. A girl may always dream ;-) If you ask me, what is my dream wedding outfits designer (may it be for nikah, reception) is Radzuan Radzwill. I love traditional things (maybe with a bit of modern touch) but I've always love what he has done to every baju pengantin yang dia reka. That's my dream designer.
My dream wedding would be, dekat tempat yg luas sebab I want the transparent tents with lampu lip-lap tu, all things white............................. Ok, enough. Cause nothing in the above mentioned dreams are being implemented =p

01.01.2011

The first day of the first month of the two thousand and eleven. Happy New Year!! Hope 2010 was a great year for you and a better year for 2011.

As for me, 2010 was FULL of dramas. Seriously. Been changing jobs, lose friends, got new friends, got engaged, dramas after engaged, getting married and what nots. Hope 2011 will be stable and better. Annnd, life will be a weeee bit different. More responsibilities #gulp. Insha Allah.

Today marks 22 days to go to 22.01.2011. Scared? Hell yeahhhhhh!!

Regards,
Nurshaela
